“Thoughts emerge, words collide and knowledge illumines young minds.”

Bosco-Lit-Fest- 2022, AICS Literary competition was organized by Don Bosco English Medium School. It was a literary platform created for the students of Association of ICSE and CBSE School (AICS) to promote literary, creativity, intellectual development in young growing students. 24 esteemed schools in and around the district of Udupi participated in the event.

Dr. B. Janardana Bhat, Retired Principal of GPUC, Belman and Kannada Novelist, was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function. In his speech he said that literature is to retrace the wrong done to the society and to build a society of tolerance and harmony. The President of the inaugural function was the Correspondent of St. Mary’s and Don Bosco institutions, V Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza, who called upon the participants to excel in their field of interest of literature. The Principal, Rev.Fr Rolwyn Joy Aranha welcomed the dignitaries, Vice-Principal Mrs. Irine Cardoza, introduced the Chief Guest, Mrs. Cynthia Periera proposed the Vote of thanks, Keerthi Pai compeered the program.

A variety of competitions were organized at different levels to students, such as Mock Press, Elocution and Essay writing, Quiz for the senior students, Recitation, Extempore, Elocution for the juniors. The competitors showcased their language expertness in major languages of English, Hindi and Kannada. The participants could be seen actively involved in the competitions with zeal and vigor.

The Chief Guest of the Valedictory function was Mr. Vincent Dcosta, Principal of Sharada Residential School, Udupi. While congratulating the students for their participation he put forth a thought provoking statement “Winners never quit and quitters never win”. He motivated the students not to give up trying for the best.

The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to all the winners, each school was presented with mementos as a reminder of Bosco Lit Fest-2022. G M Vidyanikethan Public School, Brahmavar, Udupi was the Runners Up while Madhav Kripa English Nursery and Hr Pry School Manipal bagged the Championship Trophy.

The closing ceremony was compeered by Mrs. Savitha Shettigar, Mrs. Akhila welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Mrs. Philomena Barboza proposed the Vote of thanks. Bosco Lit Fest 2022 was memorable event, appreciated by all who witnessed it.
