Don Bosco English Medium School celebrated the 77th Independence daywith vigor and vitality. The school was decked in the hues of the national flag. The celebration began with the parade escorting the dignitaries to the dias.The students of NCC ,Scouts and Guides led by the school band added to elegance. The programme was compered by Amin Ismail and Adeline Mathais of grade 10.Sharon Corda of grade 11 spoke about the importance of the day.AfrazHyder Ali of grade 10 welcomed the gathering. Melora Of grade 9 introduced the chief guest to the gathering. The choir group added to the beauty of the programme with the melody of patriotic songs.

Mr. Michael Quadras,the chief guest of the day, inspired the student fraternity through his experiences. MrQuadras emphasized the ardent need to serve one’s country. The correspondent of the school, VeryReverend Father Dr.Leslie Clifford D’Souza addressed the students, upholding the dignity of the tricolor. The vote of thanks was proposed by Fathima Zara of grade 8.

The formal programme concluded with the national anthem which was followed by a host of cultural programmes projecting the cultural diversity and reminiscing the contribution of national leaders.
